Travel Insurance Review
Have you heard of people saying that at the end of each year, infact on new year's eve they actually sit back at home calculating the wrong doings of the year, what they did wrong? How somebody else cause trouble to their lives? If yes, then it is a very common thing to feel so as one must always calculate how they can improve themselves for the next coming year, instead of sulking over the past. Ok, may not be the New Year’s Eve then some other day but something’s just cannot be ignored. Right? Read the document
Whenever a policy document is handed over to you it is best that you review the entire document by reading it carefully. This is one of the best methods, to find out what exactly the 'benefit' does no offer you. There are many policy exclusions and conditions laid out hat might go unnoticed by you because you just get carried by the heading of the document that reads benefits clearly. It is not that the insurance companies make it up later, to deny you your claims, it is all given in black in white but the difference is that you do not bother reading it. We have always come across cases where people claim- Oh, I was cheated, I did not read the print, the font size was too small and so I thought that it was not of any importance, hence skipped reading it.
This happens primarily because we think we are too smart, and that things not mentioned loud and clear are generally those statements that might not be relevant, well, it is definitely the other way round ,where, you must make it a point to read the entire document even the statements that are not legible otherwise.
Take time to understand
The document might look like the best deal because your agent says so and at times your friends claim so, but what really goes in reviewing a document is;
- Reading the schedule of benefits-That is nothing but a table that shows the benefits and the amount of coverage that will be provided. Make an attempt to understand the rates and if you are comfortable with the coverage.
- Read the description of the coverage; check that all details are covered under it. Does that include the benefits as well as the schedule?
- Make sure there are contact numbers that you can use in case of any discrepancies, you can call and ask for assistance, before getting into any hassle yourself.
- Read all the policy inclusions and exclusions clearly. Not all details are included in these policies.
